Spring Cleaning Reminder! As you're sprucing up your homes and decluttering for the season, we know you'll have things to throw away. Here are some quick tips to ensure we keep your trash and recycle collection running smooth:
1. Sort it, but don't bag it! After you separate your recyclables, just toss them in the bin and never bag them. This helps ensure they gets properly processed.
2. Extra trash, no problem! You're allowed up to 3 extra bags outside of your trash bin. Just be sure they are securely bagged and place beside your bin on collection day.
3. Too heavy, call ahead! Weekly service includes bulky items, but items over 35 pounds fall outside standard service. Call ahead to Waste Pro at (901) 236-0660 and they'll help schedule a pick up.
4. Give a little space! Always place heavy or bulky items away from other things like mailboxes, utility boxes, or light poles to allow the claw truck to access them. Look up too, as items directly under power lines can be tricky.
As always, call us if you need us! While WastePro is the Town's contracted trash servicer, you can always call Public Works (7am-3:30pm) if there is a question, or Town Hall (until 5pm M-Th, 4pm Fri) .
