Library Calendar of Events

We have special programs and events each month at the Library. Our monthly calendars help keep you informed (links in blue buttons to download). Check our new calendar each month OR check out our Library Facebook Page.

Programs occur Monday-Thursday, and on Saturdays. The Library is closed on Fridays & Sundays.

Special Seasonal Programs

5th Annual Winter Bookmark Contest!

Open to all ages. Entry deadline is January 30, 2025. Voting will take place at the library from February 3rd - 20th.

All ages are invited to submit an original bookmark design. The theme is A Winter Wonderland. Only one bookmark entry per person please.

Contest rules are all listed on the entry form template. You must use the entry form template for your submittal. The Entry Form is available for download here or pick one up at the Library.

Participants: Please visit the library for a special entry prize.

Winter Reading Challenge

Now through March 17th

All ages are invited to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge. Sign up and complete challenges to earn points. By completing 5, 10, or 15 challenges - you become eligible for prizes!

Cupcakes and Crafts

Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 am (at the Safe Room)

Join us to do V-day crafts, play bingo, and decorate cupcakes! This program is in partnership with the Senior Citizens Center. Registration is required for cupcake decorating.

On My Own: Teen Finance Simulation

"On My Own" is a hands-on, real-life budgeting simulation that gives young people the opportunity to experience adulthood in a fun and exciting way.

For teens and young adults - ages 13-18

Teen financial literacy event. at the Arlington Safe Room. March date tbd at 1:00. For ages 13 and up.

Children's Programs

Baby / Toddler Storytime!

Now at 11:30 am on Tuesdays at the Library

Babies and their caregivers are welcome to join us on Thursday mornings for tickle rhymes and wiggle songs!

We will sing, read, and share best practices to promote early literacy skills. This is a lap-sit story time best for ages 0-2.

Preschool Storytime!

10:30 am on Tuesdays at the Library

LA HORA DE CUENTOS

Every Tuesday we enjoy stories, songs, counting, dancing, and a great way for parent interaction with your little one.

The program is designed to build early language & literacy foundations in toddlers and pre-school children ages 5 and under.

We also sneak in lots of early literacy and social skill building. See more for English here. and Spanish here.

Preschool Storytime every Tuesday at 10:30am. For ages 5 and under

Chess Club Mondays!

5:00 - 6:30 pm on Mondays

Join all ages & levels of experience for a game of strategy and problem solving. You're invited to learn and master the art of chess. No registration necessary.

* Students under 12 must be signed in and accompanied by parent or designated adult while in the library. We require the parent/responsible person to remain onsite throughout the program. There is seating available on the patio (weather permitting) or you may stay in your vehicle in the parking lot. Please see staff if another arrangement needs to be made.

S.T.E.M. Thursdays!

LEGO Free Build at 4:00 pm on Thursdays

STEM 4:30 pm - on Thursdays

Your local library is the place that offers exploration and discovery: S.T.E.M.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math - with projects chosen to engage children. (ages 5+)

Free to all explorers recommended ages 5+. No registration required.

Homeschool Hangout

February 5th and 26th

February Program: Gardening

Are you a new homeschool parent? Are you looking to make connections to other homeschool groups? Do you want a place the kids can play and learn?

Join us for coffee and connections the first Wednesday of the month!

On Wednesday, Feb 26th at 10:30 pm - join us to paint your own flower pot.

Books & Barks

Every 4th Saturday

Do you have a reluctant reader? Reading aloud to a therapy dog can boost confidence and they're the best audience! Sign up for one-on-one reading time with a library pup.

Join us for coffee and connections the first Wednesday of the month!

Books and Barks is every fourth Saturday at 10:30. Sign up at the library.

Let's Grow: Gardening for Kids

2nd Saturdays at 1:00 pm.

February: A Year in the Garden & Garden Journals

Come learn and garden at the library (or community garden) with master gardener, Miss Ginger! We will have a new topic and hands on activity each month.

Kid's gardening programs are every second Saturday at 1:00. Sign up at the library.

Teen Programs

Hogwarts Homework Club

3:00 -5:00 pm on Tuesdays

Teens are welcome to join us at the Library to enjoy some snacks and work on their homework.

Teen Homework Club is every Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00.

Teen Art Club

1st Saturdays at 2:00 pm

Ages 13+ are invited to the library to practice their art skills.

Call ahead to the Library to register for this month's program.

Teen art is on first Saturdays. For ages 13 and up. Sign up at the library.

Teen Game Day

4th Saturdays at 12:00 pm

Ages 13+ are invited to the Library for Teen Game Day, to include trivia and free play time.

No registration is required.

Teen Game Day is every fourth Saturday at noon. For ages 13 and up.

Adult Programs

Book Club for Adults

1:30 pm - Last Wednesday each month.
No registration required

This book chat is for all adult ages to share about our current book selection, what you're currently reading, or what you've read.

We encourage sharing all reviews and suggestions for other members of the group. Great way to reconnect, meet people, make new friends, and add great book ideas to your reading list.

Adult Book Club is the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30.

Spin A Yarn Club - All Ages

Every 4th Monday at 3:30 pm

Open to all ages and experience.

No registration required.

Join us if you're interested in yarn arts? Want to meet like-minded crafters. You can join to learn crochet/knitting basics from an experienced mentor or work on your own projects.

Supplies and patterns will be provided for those who do not have their own.

Art Club

The 3rd Saturday of each month

February 15th: Tape Resistance Art

We will do a different craft or art project each month.

Recommended for ages 9 and up.

Art Club is on third Saturdays at 11:00.

Kids ZONE DIY Craft Day - Take & Make Kits

Join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month for the Kids ZONE DIY Craft Day.

Take & Make craft kits will be available, while supply lasts.

All instructions and supplies will be included and kits will be labeled for any additional glue, tape, etc. will be needed.

Kid's Art

Every 1st Saturday at 11:00 am

February: Pull String Painting

Join us every first Saturday for Kid's Art! Unleash your creativity with a different project each month.
