Boards & Committees

Below is a list of the various boards and committees within the Town of Arlington. These groups help make decisions on the future of our community, from development to parks to safety.

Want to Participate?? The Town relies on its citizens to staff these committees. Members serve for various terms, based on the by-laws of the committee. If you are an Arlington resident interested in participating and feel you have expertise to contribute, please submit an Interest Form for our files. The Town looks to these Interest Forms for possible candidates as positions become available.  While open positions are typically filled in October, sometimes positions open unexpectedly other times of the year.

  • Design Review Committee - This committee reviews commercial site plans for compliance with Design Guidelines, including building elevations, materials/colors, landscaping, lighting, and exterior signage.

  • Finance Committee - The Finance Committee assists the Town to establish budgets and control municipal costs.

  • Health & Safety Committee - This Committee provides input with an aim to create and maintain a safe and healthy community environment as well as provide support to the Fire Department.

  • Library Board - This Board advises and makes decisions regarding policies and procedures for the Arlington library system. 

  • Parks and Recreation Committee - This Committee serves the Parks Department when making budget decisions, prioritizing departmental needs, gathering information and locating financial support.

  • Planning Commission - The Planning Commission considers all zoning and development projects, such as individual site plans, subdivisions, and planned developments.
