On Thursday, March 26, 2020 Bryan Keith Conley, loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 55. Bryan was born in Haleyville, Alabama on May 30, 1964, to Beverly Jane Hargis and Noel Conley. Bryan leaves behind his wife, Lyle Wilson Conley, son Cody Bryan Conley (LeAnn), and daughter Jamie Lyle Conley. He is survived by his siblings Jeffrey Michael Conley (Terri), Sandra Kay Spegal (Rodney), Lisa Carol Chitwood (Larry), Pamala Rena Kiper, Ricky Alan Conley, nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles. He will also be sorely missed by endless numbers of friends.

Bryan went to State Tech Community College and received his license in heating and air. He was a partner of Handyman for Hire for 10 years. He went on to get other licensure in many areas. Bryan was hired on with the Town of Arlington in January of 1999. Quoting from their Facebook post, “Over the past 21 years, he has dedicated his passion for working to serve as the Lead Codes Inspector and most recently the Codes Director. He had a personality that was warm and welcoming. He was a generous soul with a kind heart.” As a child, he witnessed his parents, Jayne Holden and stepfather Dupree Holden work diligently through the Public Works Department to help grow Arlington. Bryan loved his town and soon became a huge impact in the Public Works Department also.

We all have been blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Bryan. Two prime examples are Cody and Jamie in their love of life, work ethic, and servant leadership roles as first responders.

He loved his yard and kept it manicured. Many times I could look out the window and see Bryan on his tractor stopped in the yard talking to a neighbor or a passer by. He was known for his quick wit, handsome smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

 Bryan loved a good joke and often was a jokester himself. He was extraordinary and we live in anything but ordinary days and so to us the two of them just go together. We will not “do” life the same again because of COVID-19 and we will no longer experience life the same because of the void left by Bryan.

Due to these unprecedented times we are unable to have a traditional funeral but we intend to have a Celebration of Life service in his honor. It will be announced at a later time on Facebook.

Any memorials may be sent to Advent Arlington Presbyterian Church, 6176 Chester Street, Arlington, TN 38002, designated to the church building fund or to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
