The Town Recorder's office is the focal point of city employment and employee development.  Arlington currently employs 51 full-time and 5 part-time employees.  Applications for all positions are accepted at any time and are kept on file at Town Hall for six months. The Recorder administers the Town's insurance and retirement plan, workers' compensation and safety programs, compensation plan, and personnel policy.

The Town of Arlington is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time position at Town Hall. Applicants shall have excellent project management, oral and written communication skills. Applicant must have an a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, from an accredited college or university in urban or regional planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, or a closely related field. At least five (5) years of public management and professional planning experience, preferably in a municipality. AICP certification is preferred.

The Town of Arlington is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time position at Town Hall. Applicants shall have excellent verbal, written, and listening skills, as well as effective time management skills and an ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks. Applicant must have an Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of experience in an administrative support position, preferably in a municipality. Mechanic
This highly motivated, organized professional will work under the supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director.  The employee is responsible for the maintenance, service, repair, and overhaul of heavy/ light machinery and vehicles, preventative maintenance program and oversight of the fueling system. This employee often works closely with the Public Works Director, Department Heads, and outside vendors. The employee will occasionally perform a variety of other duties such as operation of heavy or light equipment, maintenance of streets, ditches, and buildings, and other general labor tasks. Employee must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. This position will work Monday through Friday from 7 AM until 3:30 PM. After hours on-call rotation required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have valid TN driver’s license and maintain such as a condition of continued employment. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environment.
