The Town Recorder's office is the focal point of city employment and employee development.  Arlington currently employs 72 full-time and 2 part-time employees.  Applications for all positions are accepted at any time and are kept on file at Town Hall for six months. The Recorder administers the Town's insurance and retirement plan, workers' compensation and safety programs, compensation plan, and personnel policy.

Town Planner

The Town of Arlington is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time position at Town Hall. Applicants shall have excellent project management, oral and written communication skills. Applicant must have an a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, from an accredited college or university in urban or regional planning, civil engineering, or a closely related field. At least five (5) years of public management and professional planning experience, preferably in a municipality. AICP certification is preferred. Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 depending on education and experience.

Parks Maintenance I


The Town of Arlington  is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for a full time Parks Maintenance position to join our Parks department. This position primarily performs a wide range of manual duties/semi-skilled tasks related to maintenance and operation of the Parks facilities including caring for, cleaning, clearing, and improving grounds and park amenities. Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED & experience in performing heavy manual work in a construction, industrial, or municipal setting.

SALARY $10 PER HOUR 

Work involves performing park maintenance and upkeep, including sports fields. Will perform physical work outdoors in various weather conditions.  Must have experience operating small tractors, lawnmowers, light trucks and other maintenance equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have valid TN driver’s license and maintain such as a condition of continued employment. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environment.

Will perform physical work outdoors in various weather conditions.  Must have experience operating small tractors, lawnmowers, light trucks and other maintenance equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have valid TN driver’s license and maintain such as a condition of continued employment. Must pass a background check, driver’s license check and physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking environment.
