Public Works Buildings Painting

This bid requires licensed and bonded Contractor as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1994 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, and qualified for the type of work being bid upon.

Sealed bids will be received by the Town of Arlington at the office of the Town Recorder, Town Hall, 5854 Airline Road, Arlington, TN 38002 until 2:00 o'clock P.M. CST, April 21, 2017 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

 The Town of Arlington, Tennessee, an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer, seeks to retain the services of a professional consulting engineering firm to provide Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services for the Highway 70 Widening from SR 385 to west of Airline Road Project under the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Locally Managed Programs.  The project shall adhere to all applicable Federal and State procedures and regulations.  Consulting engineering firms and all sub-consultants that wish to be considered must be on TDOT’s pre-qualified list. The scope of work will include (but not be limited to) construction inspection, surveying, records keeping and materials testing.

Firms may request consideration by submitting 4 copies letter of interest along with qualifications, to Ms. Brittney Owens, Recorder, P. O. Box 507, Arlington, Tennessee 38002.  All letters of interest and qualifications must be received on or before 3:00 p.m. (Central Daylight Savings Time) Thursday, May 4, 2017.  The Letter of Interest and qualifications shall indicate the scope of services to be completed by any sub-consultants.  Sufficient information on qualifications should be attached to the Letter of Interest, such that the factors that will be considered in evaluation, listed below, can be properly judged.  Include in this information one or more contacts at TDOT who can verify the information provided concerning TDOT work.

Submittals will be reviewed by a Consultant Evaluation Committee, who will make a recommendation to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.  All submitters will be advised when a selection has been made.  The factors that will be considered in evaluation of submittals are as follows: 

  1. Ability and relevant expertise of the firm’s personnel to be used in performing the service
  2. Past experience in the required disciplines with TDOT and/or other clients
  3. Qualification and availability of staff
  4. Demonstrated ability to meet schedules without compromising sound engineering practice
  5. Evaluations on prior federally-funded projects, if available
  6. Size of project and limited or unlimited prequalification status
  7. Amount of work under contract with the Town of Arlington
  8. Whether the consultant can perform the work efficiently without compromising sound engineering practice
