The Town of Arlington provides garbage collection services to residents through a contract with Allied Waste. The town pays for each household to be provided with one standard trash container to be placed curbside once weekly for collection.
Recycling of acceptable materials is encouraged by the Public Works department. Upon request, residents are provided a container in which to store recyclables for pickup.
All bagged garbage, leaves and grass trimmings will be picked up on your regular scheduled garbage pick-up day if they are placed beside your garbage container. Limbs, stumps, large household or yard items will not be picked up by the regular household garbage truck, but by the claw truck crew. For these items it is recommended that you contact Public Works at (901) 867-4980, in order to coordinate a special pick up with Allied Waste.
New residents should call public works at (901) 867-4980 to establish trash collection service.

Note: Commercial and industrial facilities are responsible for providing their own collection services.
