Overview
The Arlington Planning Commission is a seven-member board appointed by the Mayor, who also serves on the commission.
The Planning Commission is responsible for the review and approval of all zoning and development within the Town of Arlington. All residential and commercial development is presented to the commission in phases and must be approved before construction may begin.

The Planning Commission also acts as an advisory board regarding zoning issues to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The Planning Commission and BMA often work jointly to make decisions which affect development in Arlington.
The Planning Commission meets monthly on the third Monday at 6:30 pm at Arlington Town Hall.
